Die Sprüche von Duke Nukem und ihre Inspirationen

Duke Nukem würde uns nur halb so viel Spaß machen, würde er nicht so viele coole Sprüche reißen. Da sich im Spiel selber schon unzählige Referenzen aus unserer Pop-Kultur befinden, ist es nicht verwunderlich, dass sich zudem massig Quotes und Anspielungen aus Kultfilmen, unserer Popkultur und anderen Videospielen hören lassen. Und unser schlagfertiger Duke weiß neben seinem großen Waffenarsenal auch seine Sprüche immer richtig und zynisch einzusetzen.

Der Synchronsprecher und Sänger Jon St. John verbirgt sich hinter der coolen Stimme, welche auf Clint Eastwood’s Rolle aus Dirty Harry, nur etwas tiefer gesprochen, anspielt.  Er startete als Radio DJ. Aufgrund seines stimmlichen Talents war er dann bald als Produktionschef für mehrere US Radiosender verantwortlich. Seine Stimme findet neben amerikanischen Themeparks auch in unzähligen Videospielen Verwendung. Unter anderem in der Sonic Reihe, Half-Life Reihe, der NASCAR Racing Reihe und Forsaken. Am bekannsten bleiben uns aber seine Performances als Duke Nukem seit 1996 in Erinnerung.

Guter Filmgeschmack

Und was haben wir nun aus der ganzen langen Liste mancher Anspielungen gelernt? Dass Duke Nukem und die Teams hinter der Spielreihe einen sehr interessanten Filmgeschmack haben. Falls euch wieder mal das Fernsehprogramm, Netflix oder Disney+ langweilen sollten, dann kauft und schaut euch einen von Dukes Vorschlägen Und so haben wir immer noch Hoffnung auf eine eventuelle Fortsetzung der Duke Nukem Reihe. Es gibt nämlich seit dem letzten Spiel schon viele neue Filme und Songs die vom Duke persönlich zitiert werden möchten.

Der letzter Release der Duke Nukem Reihe ist übrigens Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary Edition World Tour. Eine überarbeitete Version von Duke Nukem 3D welche von Nerve Software und Gearbox Software herausgebracht worden ist Zusätzlich wurde von den original Leveldesignern eine brandneue fünfte Episode programmiert, inklusive neuen Musikstücken von Lee Jackson und neu aufgenommene One-liner von Jon St. John.
